Glamour on the Red Carpet: Judith Leiber Bags Shine Bright at the Oscars

The 96th Academy Awards was a night to remember with big movies like Barbie, Poor Things and Oppenheimer  and big stars gracing the red carpet. The Oscars are not just about celebrating cinematic excellence; they're also a showcase of glamorous fashion and iconic style moments. This year's red carpet and after party looks did not disappoint with some of our favorite leading ladies carrying Judith Leiber handbags throughout the evening.

America Ferrara, wore a dazzling pink Versace gown in honor of her Barbie role and paired the sparkling dress with a Judith Leiber Fuchsia Slim Rectangle clutch to match. America channeled a modern twist on an old Hollywood look as she walked the Red Carpet.

America was not the only one of the Barbie cast and team to carry Judith Leiber, writer and director of the movie, Greta Gerwig was also carried a lovely silver Envelope Clutch that matched her shimmering champagne dress beautifully.

Mary Steenburgen also captivated onlookers in a stunning gown carrying a Pear Vienna novelty purse which brought a subtle pop of color against her black gown that paid homage to the dress she wore in 1981 when she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.  Filmmaker, Ava Duvernay chose a vintage rectangle clutch with semi-precious stones to accompany her light blue dress.

Oscar winner, Emma Thomas walked the red-carpet carrying Judith Leiber’s black crystal Skylar Clutch alongside her husband Christopher Nolan who took home an Oscar for Best Director, and the couple shared the award for Best Picture for Oppenheimer. Several other stars chose the Skylar bag in various colors, including Marlee Matlin in purple to complement her violet dress, Chrissy Teigen who opted for the bag in satin and actress Claudia Doumit who wore the same neutral shade to accompany her “bare-skin” look.

Another popular bag seen throughout the evening was the Perry Clutch which was spotted in the hands of Octavia Spencer, Molly Sims, and Sandra Oh.

Emily Blunt posted her pre-red carpet accessories including a vintage Judith Leiber clutch to pair with her stunning Schiaparelli gown, while actress Brittany Snow wore a chic custom yellow dress, complete with a champagne crystal clutch in hand.

Even the nominees who work behind the scenes walked the carpet with Judith Leiber by their sides. Set director, Elli Griff showed her creative side matching her pink gown with a Flamingo bag pulling together a fun and sophisticated look all at once. Costume designer, June Ambrose snapped some photos with the Camera Click crystal bag.

Judith Leiber bags were very present for post-award show after parties. Olivia Munn and John Mulaney attended the Vanity Far Oscar party with a including a classic silver clutch, while Lindsay Lohan stepped out for the evening in a silver Balenciaga fringed dress, which paired perfectly with a Sparkle Net Pouch in hand.  Julianne Hough, Precious Lee, Auli’I Cravalho, and Jodie Turner Smith were all seen with a Judith Leiber piece which brought the elegance and excitement of the evening to life.

As the curtain closed on another unforgettable Oscars ceremony, the history of Judith Leiber handbags on the red carpet continues to shine brightly and leaves a special mark on Hollywood's most glamorous night.
