Judith Leiber Sparkles Bright at the 71st Emmy Awards
This year’s Emmy Awards felt modern in both ceremony and style. From the host-less show to the groundbreaking winners, the atmosphere conveyed an of-the-moment and progressive spirit. The red carpet also reflected this ambience. There was still ample amounts of sparkle and ball gowns but there were also more pants, more prints and more risks. As always, Judith Leiber handbags were the plus one of many of the night’s biggest stars. No matter the style, our clutches fit right in with everything from classic glamour to the whimsical and unexpected, making them a common thread throughout the night.
Just Add Color
Bright hues deserve an award for their dramatic performances at this year’s Emmys.
Luxe red and bubblegum pink
was the combination du jour and was seen on A-listers including Mandy Moore, Marisa Tomei and Taraji P. Henson. Some of our other favorite rainbow looks included Julia Garner in a regal purple chiffon dress and Busy Phillips in cheerful Lela Rose lemon yellow dress. The irresistible Phillips chose a Judith Leiber enamel clutch in a fresh lilac hue to complement her look. Ingenue of the moment Zendaya made us all green with envy in her emerald hued corseted gown from Vera Wang. Of course we can’t talk about rich color without mentioning the inimitable
Angela Bassett. Her caped jumpsuit in fiery scarlet hit all the right notes and her

more candy coated color
to her unforgettable head-to-toe.
Black, White & Fab All Over
Never boring, always timeless and perennially chic. There is nothing a great black dress, white dress or black and white dress cannot do. Many of our favorite Emmy looks proved that simple shades can often be show-stopping much like Judith Leiber’s
classic evening bags. Gwyneth Paltrow, style icon and presenter, looked effortlessly stunning in a sleek, feather-trimmed Valentino. Her simple hair and fresh makeup also hit all the right notes. Kim Kardashian showed off her curves in a velvet Vivienne Westwood LBD. Billy Porter, Emmy winner and fashion darling, owned the carpet in a silver and black pinstriped Michael Kors suit. His
star-shaped Judith Leiber clutch
proved to be emblematic of his legendary win. Naomi Watts’ Dior ballgown was a stunning choice, with its simple velvet belt and swath of lace at the neckline. Her red lip and blond bomb created the perfect balance of Old Hollywood and of-the-moment modernity. The talented Nicole Scherzinger showed us the power of the white dress, especially when paired with our classic
Slide Lock clutch in a white handset crystal.
Shine Bright
Sparkle and more sparkle was another strong red carpet trend. Many stars embraced more modern ways of embellishment which matched the low key vibe of the night. Laura Linney nailed this by pairing a glittery one-shoulder top with a pair of sleek black pants. She finished her look with a Judith Leiber black satin clutch. Funny girl Amy Poehler also passed up a dress for a cool girl jumpsuit in a rich metallic gold. Dominique Jackson looked positively statuesque in her gold sequined custom made dress. Her animal print Judith Leiber
Clutch
enhanced the look and took it to the next level. Sparkles were not limited to gold and silver as illustrated by Annie Murphy’s effortless cobalt sequined dress and Patricia Clarkson’s dark red style with elegant flowing sleeves.
